Toy Chest Mondays
*There will be no Toy Chest program on Monday, December 17
Spend the morning playing with your toddler! We’ll bring out the toy chest. For children 6 months to 4 years old.
Circle Time and Toy Center
Fridays, 10:30 – 11:30
*There will be no Circle Time on Fridays, November 23 and December 28
For children ages 6 months to 4 years of age. 15 minutes of songs, finger plays and stories, plus some play time for you to share with your child. Meet other parents and caregivers.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
This free program encourages you to read 1,000 books to your child before they enter kindergarten – a goal experts say children need to help them learn to read for themselves. Read three picture books a night and you will finish the program within a year! See a Children’s Librarian for more information.
Registration for November/December programs begin October 29. Call or stop in to the Children’s Library to register for events.
1,2,3 Play with Me
Tuesdays, October 30 at 10am
Bring your toddler to the meeting room each week to play and learn using toys that develop motor skills. Each week, there will be an art activity and an expert on-hand to answer questions about child rearing. Materials are available in English and Spanish. Please register in advance, space is limited. For children ages 1, 2, and 3 years old.
Wednesdays, October 24 at 6pm
Join us for a 3 week Drama Kids workshop! Drama Kids helps children build confidence, self-esteem and verbal communication skills through improvisation, miniscripts, creative movement and fun theater games. Please register in advance, space is limited. For children in 2nd through 6th grade.
Sing and Sign- Baby Sign Language
Thursdays, October 25 at 7pm
Start singing and signing today! With just a few easy-to-learn ASL signs, you can start communicating with your pre-verbal baby or toddler. Is your toddler speaking already? Great! Signing has been proven to increase vocabulary, reading comprehension and cognitive skills. For children 18 months to 5 years old. Please register in advance. Space is limited.

Day of the Dead

Add some more adult time to your week during the first ever Just Bring the Baby Book Club! Ms. Stephanie & Ms. Nicolette will be talking about their personal favorite must-reads and taking suggestions from the group! After our chat we will also establish what to read for our next meeting. Tots Night Out

Gingerbread House Decorating

Come join the Baking Coach and build your own Gingerbread House using cookie cut outs, royal icing and lots of candy. Every family takes home a completed Gingerbread House. For families with children 4 years old – 6th grade. Please register in advance, space is limited.

Author Visit: Jen Calonita

Jen Calonita will be here to discuss her path from reluctant reader to published author. Jen has written many series for young readers, like VIP and Fairy Tale Reform School. Misfits is the first book in her newest series, Royal Academy Rebels. Her Young Adult series include Secrets of My Hollywood Life, Belles and Turn It Up is her newest YA title! Jen is a local author and former Carle Place resident.

Ice is Nice: The Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum

As the weather turns cold, explore the science of ice! Try your hand at icy science experiments. Create your own icy masterpiece by painting with colored ice, and learn how to make ice cream using melted ice! For children in grades 1-6. Please register in advance. Space is limited.
