Class Visits
Our library can offer you a customized class visit. Schedule a visit at the library or arrange for us to come to you. Tours last about half an hour to forty –five minutes, are grade appropriate and are scheduled as space is available. Class visits consist of a general library orientation, story/picture book presentation, booktalks and/or information literacy. Upon request
Students are also given the opportunity to obtain a library card. Library membership application forms will be given to the teacher at the time of the class visit. Students will take the forms home and return to the library on their own with a parent or guardian to receive their library cards. Library cards can also be distributed on the day of the class visit. Teachers should contact the Children’s Librarian and arrange a pick-up date and time for the amount of applications needed (Spanish/English application are also available). Library membership application forms will be sent home with each student for parental permission. Completed forms must be returned to the library two (2) weeks prior to the visit to ensure that cards are processed in time for the visit.
